What's in it

• Distilled water — filtered and purified base. Removes minerals and impurities that can leave residue or affect taste.
• Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) — the classic clean-mouth ingredient. Used in traditional oral care for generations.
• Dead Sea salt — a naturally mineral-rich salt sourced from the Dead Sea region. Gives the rinse its slightly salty, oceanic character.
• Organic xylitol — naturally derived sweetener that balances the salty-mineral notes with a touch of clean sweetness. Not fermentable by the bacteria typically found in the mouth.
• Organic peppermint essential oil — real peppermint, not synthetic mint flavoring. The source of the fresh mint scent and taste.
• Organic thyme essential oil — a traditional herbal oil used for centuries as a clean, aromatic addition to oral hygiene preparations.

That's it. No alcohol, no fluoride, no artificial colors (no blue or green dye), no synthetic flavors, no parabens, no chlorhexidine, no cetylpyridinium chloride, no preservatives.

How to use

1. Shake the bottle well before each use — essential oils and salt will settle naturally without synthetic emulsifiers
2. Pour about 1-2 tablespoons (the cap of the bottle is roughly a teaspoon) into a small cup or directly in your mouth
3. Swish for 30 seconds, working the rinse around all areas of your mouth
4. Spit. Do not swallow.
5. Rinse your mouth once with water afterward if you prefer to remove the salty finish
6. Use morning and night as part of your oral hygiene routine, or as needed throughout the day for fresh breath

What to expect

• Appearance: clear to slightly cloudy pale liquid. Natural separation between water and essential oils is normal — shake before use.
• Taste: slightly salty and mineral, with a bright peppermint top note and subtle herbal thyme in the background. Different from the sweet synthetic mint of commercial mouthwashes — this tastes like real peppermint and real sea salt, because that's what it is.
• Sensation: cooling peppermint tingle, no burning alcohol sting, no artificial numbing
• After-feel: mouth feels clean, breath feels fresh — though less dramatically minty than commercial mouthwashes, which rely on synthetic menthol in higher concentrations than is practical with natural peppermint oil
• Bottle life: one bottle lasts approximately 4-6 weeks of twice-daily use for an individual
• Shelf life: 12+ months unopened, 6 months after opening — store away from direct sunlight

The craft

Hand-blended in small batches in Oakdale, California. We combine distilled water with the baking soda, Dead Sea salt, and xylitol first, then add the peppermint and thyme essential oils last. Each bottle is hand-filled and sealed. Natural separation between water and oils is expected — we don't use synthetic emulsifiers to keep it "perfectly blended." A good shake reactivates the formula. Shelf life 12+ months unopened.
